an invitation to: chat... have a conversation, realize an opportunity... plan AN ENGAGEMENT... and quite possibly...
An offer... If you have a killer social strategy in place, I'd love to speak with you, perhaps we can make it better. If your social strategy is flailing, I'd love to speak with you, perhaps while we have a conversation, we can each learn something, and get to that one idea that allows us to alter your course.
Conversation is, after all, a key element in being social... and, as you know, the really good conversations require far more than 140 characters. But first... • who owns the relationship with your customer? (think hard) • what is your core business objective? (be honest) |
Rules of Engagement...
Step one: Simply call me up, out of the blue; OR respond to my constant badgering. We'll schedule an hour; an hour in which, unless you want clarification, I swear I will waste ZERO time talking about my accomplishments & methods. We'll commit 90% of this meeting to your telling me about the business, your objectives; the other 10%? We can talk about our kids, and your business.
|
Part two: We'll set a time frame that suits your needs, your objectives and the realities of your business in which I will prepare a set of options, ideas... not so much a proposal... lets call it a "what if we did... this, this or this" document. A starting point around which to circle the wagons and involve other stakeholder... The objective, a thourough starting point, guidelines with which to begin developing a true plan of action.
|
Stage three: Now we get into the meat and potatoes; set an overall strategy based on objectives and opportunities. Triage
available assets and establish needs. Outline a development schedule, a deployment schedule, assign roles and establish a budget range. Depending on the breadth of the requirements, appropriate elements "go live, review and revive" during this stage... |
Phase four: ...it becomes difficult to describe activities this far out in the process. Each engagement is unique... By this point there is definitely and approved budget and company wide by in. We may possibly be staffing up the project, we may simply be polishing up and handing you the keys to your shiny new CMS/SMS... When its done, I walk, you run... it easily.
|
The fifth... review, revive redo and re-gogo. Rather than "own it", I prefer to see our project as, well a teenager... I am more than happy to retain a position; guide your folks, research, source ideas & possibilities. The sight of me in your break and boardroom should not be unsettling. Obviously at some point, we'll have to make the call whether putting me on the payroll isn't that much more efficient.

Getting the most from the megabytes of stock photography you've collected is one of the first things we will cover... ...and then, in all seriousness, we'll see if we can't burn through a few dry erase markers together! These markers, they are full of ideas!
